Is the content on your website all about you?

Is your mailshot or newsletter filled with – We have, We Are, We will?

It’s time to take the ‘we’ out of your content!

Most, if not all of your customers are really only interested in what’s in it for them –

  • What can you do for me?
  • How will your product save me money or time?
  • Why do I need your service?

Here’s an example of how you can turn ‘we’ into ‘you’…

“As a clothing wholesalers we have decades of experience and have personal relationships with exclusive wholesale clothing manufacturers, trend setters and wholesale celebrity dresses manufacturers allowing us to source and supply the latest in-trend clothing, celebrity inspired dresses as worn by Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Jessica Alba, Nicole Scherzinger and many many more”

“Do you just love the latest in-trend clothing? Are you looking for a celebrity inspired dress like those worn by Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Jessica Alba, Nicole Scherzinger and many many more? At Suzies Fashion On-line Wholesalers, decades of experience and personal relationships with exclusive wholesale clothing manufacturers, trend setters and wholesale celebrity dress manufacturers, means you can find that gorgeous dress you have been dreaming of at a fraction of the price”

By making these small changes you already have the customer picturing herself in that gorgeous dress. Why? Because you spoke to her – not about you!

This is referred to ‘features and benefits’ in the marketing world. Your side of things, like the quality of the product, your relationship with top brand suppliers etc., are the ‘features’. The benefits are what it does for your customer.

Are you ready to take the ‘we’ out of your content?

Take a look at your website, brochure, mailshot company letters etc. Underline every ‘we’ you see then try to change the sentence to include the wordyou. Turn the sentence into a benefit; how it will make the customer feel… even if it is a credit control letter!

If there is too much use of the ‘we’ word in your company literature but you don’t have the time to make the changes needed on your website, mailshot etc., contact Sue at Current Content for a competitive quote today!
